The Australian Progymnasmata is a series of exercises that date back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. In this series, students will complete a set of exercises involving imitation and elaboration. The book is specifically designed for Australian students. In this third book in the series, we draw on the works of some of the great Australian poets to share Australia's best country wisdom. Students will also encounter notable Australians such as Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Caroline Chisholm. The Teacher Edition provides sample responses that correspond with the Student edition. Students will learn to write a six-paragraph Chreia composition, which includes praising wise sayings, paraphrasing, contrasting, comparing, referring to authority, and concluding with an epilogue.
